Santa Elena, where we live is a mayan village. Most of its inhabitants speak mainly their own native language as well as spanish. It's a very typical village with its 18th- century  church on a hill, the small museum and its traditionnal fiestas.

There are important ruins to discover. The sites of the Ruta Puuc are the most restored :

 Kabah, Sayil, Xlapak, Labná...

and the most impressive ; UXMAL

The Loltùn caves and the convent of Mani are the most beautifull of Yucatan.

Explore the villages all around, each with its own charm : Ticul, Muna, Oxkutcab etc..., a huge hacienda hidden in the jungle, or swim in very nice "cenotes", an open natural well.
